Factors Affecting the Service Life of Greenhouses
Film thickness: The thicker the film, the longer the aging time. The aging of polyethylene is caused by ultraviolet radiation. Films with added ultraviolet absorbers and ultraviolet stabilizers should be selected. Films with ultraviolet absorbers are like a protective layer on the film, which can absorb ultraviolet rays and convert them into heat energy. Ultraviolet stabilizers can effectively extend the aging time of the film and even repair damaged molecular structures.
2. High-temperature environment: If the film is exposed to high temperatures, especially the part in contact with the frame, it is prone to form hotspots. The maximum temperature can reach 80 degrees Celsius. This part of the film will age and deteriorate particularly easily. This is why the exterior of the film cannot be directly covered with shade nets, as directly covering the exterior with shade nets will accelerate the aging of the film.
3. Installation Method: During the installation of the film, the aging phenomenon is not strictly controlled. Therefore, when installing the film, it must be evenly tightened. When installing in summer, the film does not need to be installed too tightly because if the film structure is too tight in summer and the temperature drops in winter, the film may tear due to contraction. If the installation is carried out in winter, the film should be tightened to prevent it from expanding in summer.
