Dehumidification in Greenhouse Complexes
The multi-span greenhouse has a large operating space and is relatively closed inside, which inevitably leads to an increase in humidity inside the greenhouse. High humidity is very likely to breed bacteria and viruses. Therefore, it is very important to remove the excess water vapor in the greenhouse and reduce the humidity. The following are some methods for dehumidifying the greenhouse that I have summarized for your reference.
III. Increase Temperature and Reduce Humidity
This method not only meets the temperature requirements of vegetables but also reduces the relative humidity of the air. When the plants have developed resistance, water them, close the greenhouse, and raise the temperature to around 30℃ for about one hour, then ventilate to remove the moisture. When the greenhouse temperature drops below 25℃ after 3 to 4 hours, the process can be repeated once.
Four. Use insulating curtain materials with good moisture absorption.
Insulating curtain materials with good moisture permeability and moisture absorption, such as special internal shading or internal insulating curtains, can prevent condensation on the inner surface of the greenhouse and prevent dew from falling onto the plants, thereby reducing the air humidity in the multi-span greenhouse.
1. Ventilation and Air Exchange
Ventilation is a good way to reduce humidity. Ventilation must be carried out when the temperature is high; otherwise, it will cause the indoor temperature of the polytunnel to drop. If the temperature drops too rapidly during ventilation, the ventilation opening should be closed immediately to prevent a sudden drop in temperature from causing harm to the vegetables.
II. Plastic Film Covering
Using plastic film mulching can reduce the evaporation of soil moisture, which is an important measure to lower the indoor air humidity.
V. Natural Absorption of Moisture
Rice straw, wheat straw, slaked lime and other materials can be laid between the rows to absorb water vapor or fog, thereby achieving the purpose of reducing humidity.
